This pendant is based on a Viking age lead alloy find from York. It is very similar to a number of gold pendants probably manufactred in Denmark and found in Hiddensee, Germany, which gives it’s name to this type. The York pendant is missing a lot of fine detail and so we used a find from Tolstrup, Denmark for reference. The length of the chain is approx. 50cm with the pendant measuring approx. 41x47mm and it weighs approx. 115g
